A sitcom written by Anuvab Pal set in Imperial India where the new district magistrate of Darjeeling grapples with the responsibilities of his new post with the help - and sometimes hindrance - of his colleagues. The cast features Stephen Fry, Alexander Owen, Rasika Dugal, Anuvab Pal and Michelle Gomez.
Michelle Gomez plays Mrs Campbell, "the local British businesswoman who may or may not have fed her husband to a tiger".
One of four new comedy pilots broadcast across Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th March on BBC Radio 2 as part of BBC's 'Festival of Funny'. 'The Empire' was broadcasted on Sunday 7th March at 9.30pm.
